Fracture Repair Level 1

2 Day Class

This comprehensive course on Fracture Repair Level 1 provides participants with a detailed understanding of the intricate processes involved in fracture healing and the essential skills needed for effective fracture management. Led by experienced instructors, Drs. Karen Perry and Danielle Marturello, this course covers a wide range of learning objectives, including the examination of local events at a fracture site, differentiation between primary and secondary bone healing, and the radiographic assessment of clinical and bony union.

Diagnosis and Treatment of Patellar Luxation

2 day class

In this course on Patellar Luxation led by Drs. Karen Perry and Danielle Marturello, participants will gain comprehensive insights into the diagnosis and treatment of canine patients presenting with medial and lateral patellar luxation. Learning objectives include recognizing historical and gait assessment findings, selecting appropriate radiographic projections, interpreting radiographs, and determining when advanced imaging is necessary for surgical planning. The course delves into non-surgical and surgical treatment options, addressing components such as trochleoplasty, patelloplasty, tibial tuberosity transposition, distal femoral osteotomy, proximal tibial osteotomy, and soft tissue balancing procedures. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to formulate effective diagnostic and treatment plans for patients with patellar luxation,discuss prognoses, and understand the factors contributing to recurrence in specific cases.

Pittsburgh

National Bioskills Laboratories’ newly refurbished East Coast facility is located in the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh, only 15 minutes from Pittsburgh International Airport. This facility features seven surgical stations, a 65-seat stadium-seating auditorium, men’s and women’s locker rooms and numerous meeting areas. Our state-of-the-art auditorium is equipped with a 172” HD screen with remote conferencing capabilities, as well as AV connectivity with the lab. Between training sessions, relax in our spacious reception area and lounge, which features a pool table and dartboard. The facility is also within walking distance of riverfront parks and numerous hotels and restaurants.

Dallas

Our training site in Farmers Branch, Texas, is only 10 miles from DFW International Airport and 9 miles from Love Field Airport. This 10,500 square foot facility features eight surgical stations, a 65-seat stadium-seating auditorium, men’s and women’s locker rooms and numerous meeting areas. Our large reception area features a number of relaxing activities, including a pool table, a dartboard and putting green. This facility is conveniently located near the Galleria (7 miles) and the Las Colinas (4 miles) areas, which provide a variety of hotel and restaurant options.

San Francisco

Just 5 minutes from San Francisco International Airport and 25 minutes from downtown San Francisco, our west coast location is in the heart of the region’s biotechnology hub. Our largest facility has 25,000 square feet of flexible learning space, 20 surgical stations, auditorium seating and dining for 150, and all the comforts and conveniences you’ve come to expect from every National Bioskills facility.
